The Tocal Field Days are held every year in the first weekend in May. Our visitors include people on the land who are looking for the latest innovations, hobby farmers and enthusiasts and people just looking for a great day out.

Whether you enjoy piglet races, great food and wine, fencing demonstrations or the Grand Parade you can be sure the event will not disappoint. Our Exhibitors bring to you all the latest in farming techniques and technologies from solar energy to fencing construction.

If you would like to get regular reminders and updates on the Tocal Field Days join our Mailing List below to be added to the database. We do two mail outs annually to our visitors and three mail outs annually to our exhibitors – including the Program which will be sent to you in April.

Tocal Field Days is a non profit incorporated association with three staff members and an enthusiastic band of volunteers. We work throughout the year to ensure that the event runs smoothly for both exhibitors and visitors. We do not want Tocal Field Days to be a good event, we want it to be the best!

One of our features is ‘Dairy’ and this will include taste testing competition and even a pedal powered milk shake maker!

The Tocal Tucker food stall operated by Morpeth Public School will again feature our own Tocal grown beef but this year we will add lamb to the menu and, in line with our dairy feature, milkshakes will be on sale using our own Tocal milk.

Dairy products will be the key ingredient in the Bake or Burn competition which will be back in an amended format this year by including a bake off at the end of each day.

Our second feature is ‘Innovation in Agriculture’ and this marque will be located across from the site office and will bring a number of new inventions, innovations and discoveries together in one area. DNA extraction from strawberries, biofuels and transgenic technologies are just some of the topics you can learn about. Another inclusion is an inventor who really has ‘reinvented the wheel’! He will discuss his invention and it its many uses and applications.

There will be fencing demonstrations and a fence splitting display. The ever popular piglet races are back as well as some great new country entertainers.

We have experienced a sensational number of early exhibitor bookings this years so visitors can be assured of a vast array of farm machinery and equipment on sale.

Don’t forget the free shuttle that is available from Maitland each day of the event leaving on the hour from Maitland Railway Station and 1/4 past the hour from Lorn. The free shuttle returns to Maitland from Tocal Field Days on the half hour.

Remember to add your details to the database if you want to be added either as an exhibitor or a visitor. Potential exhibitors will receive mail outs along with existing exhibitors and visitors receive the early bird ticket order form along with the Tocal Field Days Guide Book 3 weeks prior to the event.

Ute lovers will be heading to Tocal Field Days for the fourth annual ute muster.

There are categories to suit every ute enthusiast from the best feral ute to the best classic ute.

Tocal Field Days Manager Wendy Franklin said that the variety of utes is what makes the event entertaining.

”We have entries in the best street ute which are polished and gleaming and then we have entries for rural utes which are decorated for life on the farm. Visitors love to see the utes as much as their owners love to show them off!”
